The Ministry of National Security has dismissed social media reports that one Benlord Ababio, a suspect in the fatal shooting of a soldier at Kasoa Millennium City is a national security operative.
In a terse statement dated May 1, 2024, the Ministry asked the public to disregard all reports claiming the suspect was their staff.
Ababio is currently in police custody assisting with investigations into the death of the late L/Cpl Danso Michael.
The incident, according to a statement from the military, happened on April 30, 2024, and was related to a land dispute.

The Ministry of National Security has taken note of a news item in circulation on social media that a supposed staff of the Ministry of National Security, by name Benlord Ababio, in an incident that occurred on Tuesday 30th April, 2024 at Millennium City, Kasoa, shot and killed a soldier.
The Ministry wishes to put on record that the suspect, Benlord Ababio, who is currently in police custody, is not a staff of the Ministry of National Security.
The public is therefore, urged to disregard any news item that portrays the suspect as a staff of the Ministry of National Security.
