The Sun, a prominent newspaper in the United Kingdom, has disclosed the cause of the verbal row between Liverpool coach Jurgen Klopp and Egyptian winger Mohammed Salah in their game against West Ham on Saturday, April 27, 2024.

Klopp and Salah engaged in a brief exchange on the touchline while the winger was being substituted into the game.

An unhappy-looking Salah was spotted gesturing angrily after Klopp walked to him and whispered something into his ears. The Egyptian got furious and spoke back at Klopp.

Salah then made moves to confront his coach but was stopped in his tracks by teammate Darwin Nunez.

In a front-page publication on Monday, April 29, 2024, The Sun disclosed that the duo clashed because Salah refused to interact with his manager before his substitution.

The report quotes a Liverpool source as saying, "This has happened occasionally with Jurgen and other players. He is very big on interaction with his subs before they go on and felt it didn't happen at first with Mo.

"Mo was annoyed at being left out of the team and wasn't in the best of moods, while Jurgen wasn't happy with his behaviour."

The source added: "The players were given a couple of days off after the match and are meeting up again on Tuesday. It is hoped that by then, tensions will have calmed down."

The brief incident clouded Liverpool's 2-2 draw with West Ham United, which ended their title chase.

With just three games to end the season, Liverpool sit third on the league table with 75 points.

Arsenal leads the table with 80 points, one more than second-placed Manchester City, who have a game in hand.
