Anti-graft crusader and former Member of Parliament (MP) for Esikuma-Odobin-Brakwa Constituency, PC Appiah Ofori has thrown his full support for the newly appointed Special Prosecutor saying; he will be happy to work with him in his fight.
“I am really willing to work with him. In everything Ghana first; therefore if the need arises for me to help him retrieve stolen state money why not, I will go with happiness”. He said.
Mr. Appiah made his intentions known on Abusua FM in Kumasi.
“I am very happy for his approval by parliament, now all my dreams have come true”.
In his interview, PC Appiah also indicated that he believes in Mr. Martin Amidu because he is not the kind of person who can easily be influenced.
“He is not someone you can influence. He said even the President himself can’t influence him. I thank God for his approval by parliament”.
On the issue of whether the work of the special prosecutor is going to be difficult for Mr. Amidu, he confidently stated that the current SP will never find his Job too difficult considering his level of experience.
Mr. Appiah Ofori noted that the steps put in place by President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo show he is willing to fight corruption.
PC Appiah was one of the few who endorsed Mr. Amidu when the president first mentioned him.
“I recommend Mr. Amidu to the president”, he said.
Mr. Martin Amidu this week was overwhelmingly approved by the Parliament after an earlier grilling when he appeared before the appointments committee of the house.
