Self-service works with CPC. CPC stands for Cost-Per-Click. You pay a small fee for each time somebody clicks on your banner. As each click will result in a vist to your website, basically you pay for visits to your website by potential customers
CPC is a widely adapted standard for online advertising. Even Google Adwords uses CPC.
