The Ghana Water Company Limited, GWCL, says it will publish the Timetable for Water Rationing soon to aid the public on its water usage.

The company has already begun rationing water in most parts of the country as a result of the dry season.

Head of Communication at the company, Stanley Martey, in an interview with Bubu Klinogo, on ‘Behind the News,’ said the severity of the dry season coupled with human activities, have caused water sources to dwindle very fast.

This he explained makes it difficult for the Ghana Water Company to extract enough water for treatment.

Mr. Martey urged the public to manage the little water in the system efficiently.

Mr. Martey said the three regions of the North have been badly hit by the water shortage.

Executive Director of the Water Resources Commission, Ben Ampomah, said Ghana needs to invest in the water sector to be able to have stable water supply all year round.
