Ghanaian football coach, Nana Agyemang, has blamed Asante Kotoko's patron Otumfuo Osei Tutu II for the club's woes.
While highlighting his reasons, Nana Agyemang said, that unlike clubs in Europe where the patrons are relatively unknown, Otumfuo appears to be the face of Kotoko.
"When you look at Manchester United, a very big club, I don't know the patron. The patrons of those clubs don't feature in the same way that Otumfuo does,” Agyemang told JoySports.
Additionally, he mentioned the King's managerial appointments, which he alleges are not genuine.
“The King is one big issue for me, then the management members that he selects is another problem. How they are selected represents another problem because huge lobbying goes on.”
“We are supposed to be having some competent people sitting around a table being the board managing this club and we can never ever get to that stage," he added.
Asante Kotoko, since making the finals of the 2004 CAF Confederations Cup, have been on a decline over the years.
They have won one league title in the last nine years while group stages have been their best results in the CAF inter-club competitions.
Currently, they sit 10th on the 2023/2024 Ghana Premier League table. They have won two, drew one, and lost 7 of their last 10 matches.
