AshantiGold SC returned to winning ways in the Ghana Premier League when they defeated Liberty Professionals 1-0 at the Obuasi Len-Clay Stadium on Wednesday.
The game started on a cagey note as both sides cancelled each other out, but the deadlock was broken when midfielder Amos Addai played a beautiful curling shot past goalkeeper Eric Andoh in the 14th minute to give home side advantage.
Liberty came back strongly into the game in the second stanza with some nice intricate passing play but could not find the equalizer.
AshantiGold threatened the goal area of the scientific soccer lads on countless occasion but failed to add to their advantage as they held on to record a win three games.
