A Member of the Council of State, Paa Kofi Ansong, has cautioned government appointees in the Eastern Region to be mindful of their actions in order not to be found foul of the law.
According to him, the appointment of Martin Alamisi Burns Kaiser Amidu as the Special Prosecutor must send a strong signal to all the appointees in the region that His Excellency President Akufo-Addo is determined to fight corruption in the country.
Mr. Kofi Ansong who described President Akufo-Addo as a ‘dribbler’ and someone who does not condone wrongdoing, urged corrupt appointees to advise themselves, saying “if you look at the appointment of the Special Prosecutor then we should all be careful about our actions.” “We don’t want any corruption scandal in the Eastern Region…So you the appointee should serve your nation with sincerity and clean heart,” he said.
Speaking at a get-together organized by the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Eastern Regional executives to appreciate the contributions of party officers who worked tirelessly during the 2016 general elections, Mr. Kofi Ansong charged the appointees to make the President proud by discharging their duties effectively and desist from actions which can tarnish their image as well as the president.
The Eastern Regional Chairman of the NPP Mr Kingston Akumin Kissi thanked the constituency officers, the MPs, and other personnel for their hard work and the resultant sweet victory for His Excellency, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, and NPP.
The Regional Chairman explained that the NPP won the 20116 elections because of love, commitment and sacrifice the officers demonstrated towards the party.
He wished the incumbent constituency and regional executives who are seeking re-election well in their quest to retain their positions.
