The Speaker of Parliament, Prof. Aaron Mike Oquaye has ordered all Members of Parliament to reconvene on Monday, September 24.
In exercising the power conferred on him by Order 42(3), the Speaker in a communiqué sated that “Parliament shall notwithstanding anything to the contrary, be recalled from recess to sit from Monday, the 24 Day of September 2018 to Friday, the 28th day of September 2018, at ten o’clock in the forenoon each day”.
The statement dated September 14 said parliament will consider, among others, “some urgent parliamentary business” but did not specify the items on the agenda.
The recall was initially planned for September 10 but had to be rescheduled because the leadership of the house including the Speaker, Prof. Mike Oquaye, had some other engagements outside the country.
