Veteran Ghanaian coach Herbert Addo is embittered by the way the Ghana FA has “neglected” him during his ailing days. According to the experienced football coach, no official from the football governing body has paid him a visit to check on his weakening health and recounts his shock at how the nation celebrates deaths of veteran coaches.

Addo is disappointed at the system and hopes the status quo is changed. “I was so shocked when I saw the Graphic on Monday on EK Afranie’s burial splendid with big Kente and even the president was even there. The likes of Osam Duodu all gone we could have done something better but they are all gone.

“For the past six months I have not had any visit from the Ghana FA but the likes of Coach Dauda Lutterodt and I was happy when I saw them. I am disappointed but they need to keep track on those who have served the nation so at least they could get free medical attention”, he told Starr Sports. Addo has managed several Clubs in the Ghana Premier League including Asante Kotoko, Hearts and Aduana Stars where he led the latter to win their first and only domestic League title.

The Ghanaian trainer has also coached Ghana’s U-20 team as well as the local Black Stars team.
