Ghana international Abdul Majeed Waris has pledged to do all he can to ensure his sinking Lorient side remain in the French top flight.
Lorient are 3rd from bottom with 31 points from 33 games in the French League this season but have shown signs of survival in recent games.
They pulled a chest nut from a blazing fire to beat Lyon 4-1 last week but also fell to a 2-0 defeat to Montpellier this weekend.
Despite the undulating nature of the results the Ghanaian is promising a masterful escape from the drop.
“All the experiences are positive. As long as one continues to play football well,” Waris said
“This is the key to getting through this season. Inevitably, in our situation, there is an additional pressure, but it suits me.”
“Pressure is part of the game. I am a fighter, the next games will be fights. I am ready, it is in my mentality to fight to win. You are not the same player at the beginning of the season.”
“But i will fight to ensure that we stay up this season.”
Waris will be hoping to continue his goal scoring form when they take on Metz in the French League this weekend.
