Ghana International, Thomas Partey has become the first ever Ghanaian to win the UEFA Europa League after his Atletico Madrid team beat Olympique Marseille 3-0 on Wednesday evening.
The 24year old who was introduced in the 88th minute to replace Ander Correa has been a key member of the Spanish side this season.
Partey made a total of 53 appearances in all competitions for Atletico and scored 5 goals in the 2017/18 season.
He is the current SWAG footballer of the year.
Previously known as the UEFA Cup, it’s format was changed and became known as the UEFA Europa League during the 2009/2010 campaign.
