The annual French Football Awards, known as the Union of French Players (UNFP) Awards, took place in Paris on Monday, May 13, 2023.

This ceremony, marking the culmination of the football season, celebrates the achievements and contributions of players, coaches, and clubs throughout the year.

Among the attendees was Le Havre forward and Black Stars Captain, Andre Ayew, who was a contender for the Goal of the Season award.

Ayew's remarkable bicycle kick goal for Le Havre AC in their 3-3 draw against Lorient earned him a spot on the shortlist for this prestigious end-of-season accolade.

For the event, Dede Ayew donned a stylish two-piece suit featuring a white long-sleeved shirt, a 'cut out' inner vest, and a suit jacket adorned with crystal embroidery.

Regrettably, the Ghanaian striker did not win the award, which went to Kamory Doumbia of Stade Brest from Mali.

Andre Ayew has enjoyed a notably successful period with Le Havre. Since his arrival in January, the Black Stars forward has netted five goals for the French team.

He is anticipated to be selected by coach Otto Addo for the FIFA World Cup qualifier against Mali in June.

In related news, Kylian Mbappe, the departing forward from PSG, was honoured as the French Ligue 1 Player of the Season.

Mbappe, who has announced his departure from PSG, clinched the award for an impressive fifth consecutive year, having scored a total of 44 goals across all competitions for PSG.
