The top seed at the 2017 McDan West African Tennis Open lived up to expectations when France based Togolese Thomas Sethodji qualified for the Men’s final to face Felix Hounkpevi from Benin.

Sethodji says his grand mum comes from Ghana and calling on Ghanaian's to come out and cheer him at the final.

He stated beating Felix an two occasions, but he is not over confident, but sure of winning.

For the Women’s category, two Nigerians made it to the best two, as Angel Mcleod is billed to face Sarah Adegoke.

The Semi finals were exciting as usual Ghanaian tennis fan cheering their idols whose spirits were willing, but the body did not have the capacity.

Ghana’s Jeff Bagerbaseh and Wisdom Na-Adrajo did well to reach the Top four and should be commended as they have not been getting many tournaments to play in to sharpen their skills or improve their talent.

Jeff for instance showed promise, but he himself often put the ball in the net after leading his opponent from Benin.

Only one Ghanaian female, Emma Cudjoe made it to the Semis and she also deserves commendation.

The Semi finals attracted a sizable crowd which means if a Ghanaian had made it, the court would be packed, and that will prove that Tennis is back in Ghana.

But the tournament in general had been well organized to the satisfaction of all and those who worked hard deserve to be praised, especially Dr. Dan Mckorley who invested much in the competition as well as Cocobod, GNPC, Rush

Energy Drink, umb and Afwest Security.

The media have also supported the tournament and share in the praises, just like the Die Hard Supporters who have cheered the programme for six days.
