Latif Abubakar said the awards will honor individuals that play a vital role in the industry
The Maiden edition of the Ghana Shippers Awards has been slated for 30th of June, 2017, at the MovenPick Ambassador hotel at 6pm.
The event which is being organised by Globe Productions Limited in collaboration with the Graphic Business seeks to recognize distinctions in the maritime field, and also to promote the interests of the industry both nationally and internationally.
Speaking in an interview with Eye on Port, Latif Abubakar, Events Director of Global Production limited said the awards cut across road transportations, ocean carriers, air transportation, freight forwarding, shipping agents, express services, courier agencies, government agencies, insurance, financial institutions and more.
He said the awards would provide the platform to recognize individuals and companies that play a significant role in the growth and development of the industry, while recognizing the key functions within the industry that promote growth and sustainability.
The maiden of the Ghana Shippers awards promises to be very exciting particularly coming on the heels of the Vice presidents call for all agencies, corporations and individuals to let their works at the Port yield total efficiency in doing business in Ghana.
