The senior national women’s soccer team, the Black Queens, are scheduled to leave Accra by Wednesday for a preparatory tour in Europe ahead of the FIFA Women’s World Cup.

The Queens are expected to begin their European tour in the U.K where they were billed to play some international friendly matches in with Arsenal and Fulham Ladies.

The friendlies will give the Black Queens an opportunity to assess their strength since they have so far been playing some sub-standard local matches for preparations.

The Queens will be in the U.S in August to acclimatise to the conditions in the States and play some more friendly games before the tournament in September.

Some Ghanaian nationals have offered to host the Queens during their brief stay in the U.K as their contribution to Ghana’s campaign.

The Black Queens and Nigeria’s Super Falcons will represent Africa at the Women’s World Cup.

The Queens will open their campaign against 1999 runners-up, China.
