Residents of the Akatsi South Constituency in the Volta Region have benefitted from a free medical screening and health education, with free medication.
The screening was organised by Mr Samuel Benedict K. Nugblega, a Parliamentary Candidate aspirant of the National Democratic Congress (NDC).
The medical team handled cases including dental care, eye care, diabetes, hypertension, and obesity.
The beneficiaries were also sensitised on eye and dental care, and mental health, especially myths and beliefs that affect the support and care for the mentally ill.
Nugblega, who is the Director of Human Resource, Christian Health Association of Ghana (CHAG), told the Ghana News Agency that it was his dream to give back to society before he became a politician.
"I'm from this area and I promise to leverage on my networks both locally and internationally, and collaborate with many other NGOs like The Sky is the Limit to bring development to the district and make life better for my people," he said.
He promised to help bring development projects to the area and create jobs for youth.
“I didn’t spend any money here but I am going with medicines to treat my health condition. May God continue to bless Mr Nugblega and his people,” a beneficiary said.
