Yaw Dabo visits former president Kufuor
Ghanaian actor and football enthusiast Yaw Dabo has paid a visit to former President John Agyekum Kufuor at his residence on Tuesday, September 1, 2026.
The visit, which appeared to be a warm and light-hearted interaction, saw the actor engage the former president in a humorous conversation centred around his newfound nickname, “John Telly.”
During the visit, the actor humorously told the former president that he now goes by the name “John Telly”, a playful reference to former Chelsea and England defender John Terry.
Yaw Dabo, who has recently been associated with the name among his fans, told Kufuor that people now recognise him as John Telly wherever he goes.
“John Telly has come to visit his grandfather. Now my name is Big Mind A.K.A John Telly. Everywhere I go now, people call me John Telly,” he said.

The actor further joked that he was planning to bring the legendary former footballer John Terry to Ghana so that he could meet and greet Kufuor.
“I’m planning on bringing John Terry to Ghana soon and I will bring him to greet you,” Yaw Dabo told the former president.
He also revealed that he had gone a step further by putting John Terry's image on all his buses.
“I’ve put him on all my buses,” he added.
The visit highlighted the warm relationship between the actor and the former president, with Yaw Dabo addressing Kufuor affectionately as his “grandfather”.
