'Invest in us now' - Hasaacas Ladies CEO urges Veep over women football
The Chief Executive Officer of Hasaacas Ladies, Dr Evelyn Nsiah Asare has called on Vice President Professor Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang to take a more active role in promoting and supporting women’s football in Ghana.
Speaking at the recent GFA congress Conference, she said the vice president can become a patron of women’s football and champion initiatives that will help improve the development of the women’s game.
“She has to come on board, becoming a patron for the women’s games. We need the basis right,”she said.
She also urged the government to consider constructing at least one standard football pitch in every region specifically to support women’s football.

According to her, poor playing surfaces continue to affect the quality and development of the game, while other African countries are making significant investments in their women’s football structures.
She cited Malawi’s recent progress as an example of what can be achieved when the right foundation is put in place.
The Hasaacas Ladies CEO further called on the media to give women’s football greater coverage, arguing that the women’s game deserves the same attention given to men’s football.
“You run commentaries 90 minutes for men's football, but when we are playing the women's games, we don't see you. Let us develop together, "she added.
