Mark Addo reveals latest on GFA’s search for Ghana Premier League sponsor

The Vice President of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Mark Addo, has disclosed that the marketing department is working relentlessly to secure a headline sponsor for the Ghana Premier League (GPL). He admitted that finding a new sponsor has been challenging for the administration, but assured that efforts are ongoing to secure one as soon as possible. Fix the old or build new? President Mahama faces stadium dilemma “I think the marketing department in the FA continues to work all the time, and as more sponsors come in, we will definitely make sure GPL, which is our best product, has the right fit in terms of sponsorship. "So I’m not going to stand here and tell you that we have one tomorrow, but I can tell you for a fact that work continues every day in trying to find the right sponsor and the right fit for the GPL,” he told the media during the 32nd Ordinary Congress held at Prampram. Addo further noted that the administration has made progress in terms of broadcast deals, which have allowed some matches to be shown live to the general public. He added that this demonstrates the GFA’s commitment to ensuring the local league receives the best possible packages for clubs to benefit from. “Part of the work we are doing now in terms of media rights, including other TV stations picking up matches, is quite substantial. So even though we may not necessarily have a headline sponsor yet, there is other work going on that shows the benefits teams are currently enjoying,” he explained. The 2026/2027 Ghana Premier League is already underway without a headline sponsor, raising concerns within the sporting fraternity about the GFA’s efficiency.
