‘I was referring to Sarkodie and Shatta Wale’ - Stonebwoy on 'convenient friendship' jab

Ghanaian dancehall artiste Stonebwoy has confirmed that his recent cryptic post on social media was targeted at Shatta Wale and Sarkodie. In excerpts from a TikTok Live shared on X on September 9, 2026, Stonebwoy revealed that his tweet on May 29, 2026, which read, “These two guys have been faking to each other based on interests and timing. Convenient friendship. Even the devil hates that”, was directed at Sarkodie and Shatta Wale. According to Stonebwoy, he is not a hypocrite like Shatta Wale or Sarkodie and stands by his tweet, in which he described their relationship as fake. 'You called police to arrest me’ - Stonebwoy reveal details of ‘beef’ with Sarkodie “When I made my factual tweets, I still went ahead and addressed it to him because I’m not fake. Whatever I say online, I can say in person, and that’s what I posted. “Everybody can know that I was referring to Sarkodie and Shatta Wale, done. I wasn’t trying to beat about the bush. Any other explanation that anybody was giving was their opinion, but I never came out to say I was deflecting the reality,” he said. Explaining his decision to go live on TikTok, Stonebwoy noted that he wanted to share his side of the story because he did not have the time to write. “We live in an industry where everybody is pouring their hearts, their lives, their sweat into it, and trying to make sure that we have an environment to operate and live within. “So I’m equally concerned, and I know everything that’s going on. Many, many of the things I’ve hardly spoken about, but with this, I’m speaking right here because I can write, but I don’t have time to write. If you guys speak from it,” he stated. ‘What is your problem? - Sarkodie responds to Stonebwoy’s tall list of allegations Stonebwoy further stated that although he is not related to Sarkodie, he knows him well enough to recognize when the rapper is insulting him based on his mannerisms. Despite their differences, he emphasised that he continues to speak highly of Sarkodie whenever given the opportunity. “I know Sarkodie; I went to senior high school with him. I don’t live with him. I’m not his brother. I’m not his family member. But I can say that I know him by the fact that we went to the same senior high school. “I’ve always spoken highly of this guy everywhere, any day that I find the opportunity to, irrespective of whatever it may be,” he added.
