DJ Slim has shared Stonebwoy’s perspective on Sarkodie’s recent comments about toxicity in Ghana’s music industry, clarifying that the dancehall artiste’s disagreement lies in how Sarkodie addressed relationships among artistes.
Speaking on his 'Street Is Watching' podcast, DJ Slim said Stonebwoy believes Sarkodie’s call for unity and respect should also be reflected in the relationships he maintains and the people he supports within the industry.
“The only part there was a problem was when he was addressing artistes; that is where Stonebwoy says, ‘I do not agree with you on that part,” DJ Slim said while explaining Stonebwoy’s position.

He added that Stonebwoy questioned Sarkodie’s approach, especially his decision to defend or understand certain behaviours from Shatta Wale while also speaking against toxic energy in the industry.
“According to you, you understand that side of him because sometimes when there is an issue you can’t go forward and say it, so you push him forward to go say it, then later you sit down secretly with the person and talk it out,” DJ Slim said.
Sharing Stonebwoy’s thoughts on respect and cooperation, DJ Slim said the dancehall artiste believes artistes do not necessarily have to be friends but must maintain mutual respect. He referenced M.anifest’s comment that unity in the industry may be difficult, but cooperation remains important.
DJ Slim further explained that Stonebwoy believes Sarkodie’s criticism of disrespect among artistes should start with those close to him, accusing him of enabling people who allegedly build their platforms by attacking others.
“If you have grown a conscience overnight, I think you should have started from your friend because there’s no one in this country who is more abusive to his colleagues in the industry than him,” he said.
He concluded that, according to Stonebwoy’s view, accepting responsibility for enabling such behaviour is necessary if the industry truly wants to move away from toxicity.
“Then he said, ‘You are an enabler; there are people around you who have also grown their fan bases by shitting on other brands, and you gave them shout-outs. You know them, so you’re an enabler. Once you accept that, I am ok,” DJ Slim added while explaining Stonebwoy’s position
