‘I’m tired’ - Reggie Zippy declares amid tough legal battle
UK-based Ghanaian musician Reggie Zippy has opened up about the emotional toll of his ongoing legal battle.
He revealed that he considered giving up following what he described as one of the most difficult court sessions he has experienced.
In a video shared on his social media, Reggie said he has appeared in civil, criminal, and family courts over the years, but described his latest session as particularly challenging.
“I did a post regarding my court hearing and a lot of situations have happened today. I’ve been through so many courts, from civil, criminal and family. I must say today was one of the most difficult court sessions for me because I was ready to throw in the towel,” he said.
According to Reggie Zippy, he told his lawyer that he is tired and would rather accept whatever punishment comes his way.
“My lawyer was like I’ve got very solid points and reasons, so I can’t give up but I told him I’m tired. Let them put me in jail for the next five years and hopefully, it will make everybody happy,” he recounted.
He mentioned that his lawyer subsequently explained to him that his current case involved the Crown Prosecution.
“He made me understand that my case now is me versus the Crown because this is Crown Prosecution,” he shared.
The musician also hinted that there were details surrounding the case that members of the public may not be aware of, explaining that he has occasionally spoken publicly about his situation because of the difficulties he has faced.

“There is a reason why, all these years, there are times that I’ve come out to speak about my reality. When it’s all said and done, you hear the allegations against me and the reason why I’ve been attending court till today, you will just be as surprised and sad as I am,” he stated.
Reggie Zippy said the proceedings became highly emotional for him, adding that he has reached a point where he told those involved that he was prepared to face the ultimate punishment.
“It got quite emotional today. I told them to crucify me or kill me because I’m tired. I’m also human and even if it was a death sentence, I would have gone for it,” he noted.
He also recounted receiving an emotional voice recording from his uncle, who he said was struggling to hold back his tears.
“Imagine receiving a voice recording this morning from my uncle, who knows my heart very well, my nearly 70-year-old uncle trying to hold it together without crying. It hurts so badly,” he said.
The musician added that his family had advised him not to discuss the matter with his grandparents because of their age and concerns that the situation could affect them.
“My family advised me not to speak to my grandparents about what’s going on because they’re at the age where these things could trigger the stuff they’re dealing with,” he explained.
Reggie Zippy disclosed that the case has been adjourned until the end of October.
He also said he is documenting his experiences as they happen and intends to make the details public once the legal proceedings are concluded.
“My case has been adjourned to the end of October. I’m documenting my life in real time. When this is all set, I will make sure the whole world sees why I’ve been through all this, with evidence. There are things that you wouldn’t know unless you’re that close to me,” he added.
