Pastors who married female gospel musicians treated them badly - Great Ampong

Gospel musician Great Ampong has accused some pastors who married female gospel musicians of treating their wives badly, arguing that the alleged mistreatment has contributed to the breakdown of many of those marriages. Speaking on Neat FM, the gospel singer expressed concern about the number of marriages between pastors and female gospel musicians that have reportedly ended in divorce. He said the manner in which some husbands treated the women played a role in the collapse of their relationships. “Pastors who married female gospel musicians treated them badly, and almost all of those marriages have ended in divorce,” he said. Great Ampong also expressed shock at the reported breakdown of the marriage between gospel musician Florence Obinim and her husband, Bishop Daniel Obinim. According to him, he never expected the couple’s marriage to reach the point of divorce because Florence Obinim has always appeared to be a quiet person who rarely discusses her private life publicly. He explained that her reserved nature made him believe that her marriage would be among the few that would survive despite the challenges some couples face. ‘Charismatic churches have bred nonsense behaviour’ – Great Ampong blasts Obinim “I thought Florence Obinim’s marriage would be the last one standing, so I don’t know how she has also ended up in this situation. She is not someone who likes to talk about her personal life, so nobody would have imagined that something like this could happen to her,” he noted. He expressed concern about Obinim insulting his wife and reading out details of her divorce demands before members of the congregation. The gospel musician further claimed that about 80% of Ghanaian pastors know they have disappointed God through their conduct and the way they approach their responsibilities in ministry. “Ghanaian pastors are nonchalant and uncaring. So far as the doom is not befalling them, they have no interest in other people’s predicaments,” he said. View this post on Instagram
