Dortmund, Germany, -- The national team, the Black Stars deserve a huge round of applause for making Ghana one of the best soccer nations. Coach Doya has done well for taking the stars to the World Cup and also the team performed greatly. While they lost the game to Brazil, many fans of both sides (Ghana and Brazil) were disappointed about the referee's performance. Prior to the game, many fans were wondering why FIFA included a Czech as the official referee. Some also wondered when would Africa get the fairness we deserve. The World Cup seemed to have always favorites; either Brazil or Germany. FIFA must wake up and stop this bad officiating because one day AFRICA will be fed up, protest and boycott the World Cup. The game was also a moment for the black marketers. It was the time for some Ghanaians selling tickets and making lots of euros. Prior to starting the game, A 60 euro ticket was running for 300 euros (Some got the best offer for 150 euros each) and a 120 euro ticket was going for 400-700 euros. One Brazillian offered 1000 euros for 5 of the 120 euro tickets (a 400 euro profit) but the "ticket vendor" refused to sell the tickets to the Brazillian opting for the highest bidder. Many could not get tickets and watched the game from the big screens at the Fans Hall. Furthermore, during the second half, a Brazillian standing next to this writer was so disappointed at the referee allowing the second, third goals and finally Asamoah Gyan getting the red card. The Brazillian became very angry that he quit watching the rest of the game. Yaw Ampofo Ankrah and Metro TV were also there to cover the game. Nonetheless after the game, many Brazillians congratulated Ghanaians for a job well done. Some Ghanaians also celebrated because Ghana has proved that they are a great team. The Black Stars accepts the defeat with grace as in the end, the best team won on paper. BRAVO TO THE STARS AND BETTER LUCK NEXT TIME!!
