Bronx, New York -- This week's spotlight is on; Gifty Ohene Agyapong of New York aka Ghana Princess. She turned 16 years of age and she had been working hard on her sweet 16 party for months. She invited Ghanaweb to be part of the occasion with the message; "Please come to my party because it is gonna be popping and one of the best there is".
Indeed on Saturday, November 4th, 2006 her sweet 16 party took place at the busy Cocoa House which is currently the busiest venue for all Ghanaian events. Before the event kicked off, Gifty and her friends arrived at the venue in a limousine and she looked superb in her designer dress. She was escorted by Amon Ogyiri who was her partner of the occasion. 6 ladies and 6 gentlemen including her brother; Ken Jr. also accompanied her.
The Master of Ceremonies was none other than the "Don Coleon" of all Ghanaian events; Papa Linc. The guests of honour were her parents; Gifty's dad and powerful politician; Hon. Ken Ohene Agyapong, MP for Assin North and mother; Ms Ama Nyarko Edusei. Honorable Agyapong who was proud of her daughter, was also touched by the huge number of people who came to offer their support.
Hiplife sensation from New York; Kwaku Nsronoma brought the house down with his Obrafuor style of rapping. He has a bright future in the music industry, check out his incredible CD.
The party was definitely "popping" as the dance floor was packed. The sweet 16 party was by far, one of the most well organized and and well attended in the Bronx. Her huge family and many of her peers were also represented.
In a phone conversation with the birthday girl, Ghana Princess would like to offer her sincere gratitude to her family, friends and all who came in their
numbers to offer their support. She said she really had a great time and the party was "popping'.
