Family and friends recently gathered for the traditional funeral rites
for the late ALICE AFUA AMPOMAH, grandmother of the Kojo Twum aka DJ Kojak,
a renowned heavy hitter in America of Renegade Sound Station/Bombshell
Radio. The event occurred at the Gauchos Gym, Bronx, NY. Among the noted
personalities who attended and mourned with the bereaved family are; Nana
Amponsah, NY Asantefuohene, Nana Abena Manu, NY Asantefuohemaahemaa, Lawyer
Kuntu Blankson, Mr. Kofi Boateng, NPP USA Chairman, Nana Amo Adjapong and
others.
Madam Ampomah who died in the Bronx after a short illness is also the mother
of Mr.Yaw Adu-Twum Sakyi, a former Vice Chairman of NPP Boston Chapter
and is an aspiring NPP MP candidate for Akyem Oda Constituency, in the new
Birim Central Municipality, Ghana.
Music was provided by the legendary Katabo Soundz (The father of all
Ghanaian DJs in the US). DJ Kojak in a tribute to his late grandmother
produced and gave away thousand CDs featuring a collection of the late Madam
Ampomah's favourite gospel songs.
DJ Kojak is also known worldwide to have produced thousands of CDs and
songs for downloads in tribute to the late South African Reggae Superstar;
Lucky Dube. The CD featured a collection of Lucky's favorite hits for all
his fans. "A BIG ROUND OF APPLAUSE TO THE SELECTOR, DJ KOJAK PLEASE"
Madam Ampomah would be missed dearly by her loved ones around the world.
