‘I want to win a cup for Ghana’ – Kwasi Sibo targets 2027 AFCON

Ghana midfielder Kwasi Sibo has expressed his strong desire to help the Black Stars end the country’s long wait for a major international trophy by winning the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).

Speaking in an interview with 3Sports, Sibo said winning a trophy for Ghana remains a personal dream, stressing that it has been “ages” since the nation last celebrated continental success.

“I think it’s been ages that Ghana won a cup, to be honest with you. It’s been ages. I want the nation to also feel it in their heart, to win a cup for the nation,” he stated.

Sibo also expressed confidence in the current squad and coaching staff, saying he believes they have what it takes to make that dream a reality.

“That’s a dream. That’s something that I want that dream to manifest, and I believe in the team. I believe in the coaching staff, that they can let that dream happen for every Ghanaian that has been waiting for ages to see Ghana win a cup,” he added.

"I want to win a cup for the nation. Its been ages. It's a dream and now the 2027 AFCON is coming."
