Popular Black Stars' ‘Powder Man’ fan arrested over alleged visa fraud

Popular Black Stars supporter Kailani Ibrahim Kpa, popularly known as “Powder Man,” has reportedly been arrested in connection with an alleged visa fraud case. Kpa was arrested on Monday, August 24, 2026, at East Legon in Accra by officers from the Documentation and Visa Fraud Unit of the Ghana Police Service Headquarters. According to a source familiar with the case, the suspect allegedly collected thousands of US dollars from several individuals after promising to facilitate their travel to countries including Canada, Nicaragua and the United States. However, the arrangements reportedly failed to materialise, with him subsequently becoming unreachable and allegedly going into hiding. Ibrahim Kpa became widely recognised after viral footage captured him blowing white powder into the air while supporting Ghana during matches at the tournament. His unusual celebration earned him the nickname “Powder Man” and made him a familiar face among Black Stars fans. Following his arrest, Kpa is expected to appear before the Accra Circuit Court on Wednesday, August 26, where he is expected to face the allegations.
