I don’t feel entitled to success or recognition – AratheJay

Ghanaian musician AratheJay has opened up about his growing acceptance in the music industry, stressing that he does not believe he is entitled to success or recognition. According to him, he prefers to leave his achievements in the hands of God while focusing on creating music that inspires positivity. Speaking in an interview on Hitz FM on August 25, 2026, AratheJay disclosed that he believes Ghanaians are gradually embracing his sound. “I somehow believe that people have accepted my music and we’re getting there gradually,” he said. The musician cautioned against having a mindset that one is automatically deserving of certain achievements or recognition. I personally don’t think I deserve anything but only what God will give me,” he stated. AratheJay explained that his music is deeply rooted in his faith and carries a positive message that he hopes listeners will connect with. “What I want people to know about this music is that it’s God-given and everything in it is very positive,” he shared. He noted that regardless of the subject of a particular song, his ultimate goal is to inspire listeners and encourage positivity in their lives. “One thing I would want people to take from my music is that we do very positive, conscious music. I’d want you to approach every song, whether it’s a love song or I’m in pain, at the end of the day, we’re trying to inspire positivity in people’s lives,” AratheJay added.
