'Good men are not as attractive as bad boys' – Counselor Perfect

Relationship counselor Counselor Perfect has observed that while good men exist, they are often considered less attractive by some women compared to so-called “bad boys.” Speaking in an interview on Joy Prime on Saturday, September 12, 2026, Counselor Perfect said the perception that good men are boring contributes to the preference for men who exhibit rebellious or problematic behaviour. “We do have good men, but the funny thing is the good man is not that attractive. The bad boy is more attractive than the good guy. The good guy is boring and vice versa,” she said. She explained that a good man is one who is considerate, prioritises his partner, understands her and does not intentionally shame or embarrass her. According to her, such a man should also know how to maintain a healthy balance between his relationship and his family, particularly when it comes to his mother and partner. “A good man is someone considerate, who puts you first, who understands you, who is not going to shame you and who knows how to put his mother and you in your place,” she shared. Counselor Perfect further explained that a genuinely good man does not enter a woman's life solely for physical intimacy, but seeks to contribute positively to her growth and wellbeing. “A good man comes into your life and he is not thinking of what he can take physically, like intimacy, but he is thinking about how to upgrade you, even if it doesn’t end in marriage,” she stated. She added that the impact of such a relationship should remain positive even if the couple eventually go their separate ways. “He puts you in a good place that will make you remember you had someone better,” she added.
