Ghanaian rapper M.anifest has weighed in on the ongoing social media debate about what people should order on a first date, stating that he prefers honesty over pretense when it comes to appetite.
This follows comments by TV host Highest Eri, who questioned why a woman would order fufu and light soup on a first date, arguing that such meals are not “demure” and suggesting lighter options like rice or fries instead.
Her comments have since sparked massive discussions online.

Joining the conversation, M.anifest encouraged authenticity, stating that anyone on a first date with him should feel free to order a full meal, including fufu with light soup and goat meat, rather than settling for fries or small chops to create a false impression.
“As for me, I need you to order fufu and light soup and goat meat and whatever. On our first date, so I know you’re a real one. Don’t come and deceive me with an order of fries and small chops,” he said
The Ghanaian rapper jokingly added that people who genuinely enjoy heavier local meals should not hide their true preferences during the early stages of dating.
“Meanwhile, you have banku and tilapia appetite, you bab, don’t come and deceive me. Keep your A1 from day one,” he added
The rapper’s remarks have since sparked reactions on social media, with many users agreeing that authenticity is more important than trying to impress someone with restrained food choices on a first date.
