From Infidelity, Miscarriage to Alleged Assault: What we know about Nana Akua Addo’s marriage crisis

Ghanaian fashion icon Nana Akua Addo and her husband, Harold Duodu Norman, have been the subject of intense discussion on social media over the past 24 hours. Videos of the couple involved in heated altercations and exchanges of words, among others, have sparked reactions from netizens. Genesis of the marital issues: According to reports, the marital differences between Nana Akua Addo and her husband have persisted throughout the 14 years of their marriage. However, the issues reportedly worsened in 2021. It was reported that in 2021, a woman identified as Jenny Brown had an affair with Harold Duodu Norman, the husband of Nana Akua Addo, in London, which eventually resulted in a pregnancy. Nana Akua Addo, in an interview with Zionfelix, also confirmed that her husband had an affair with the said Jenny Brown in 2021. Assault on Nana Akua Addo: Following the alleged infidelity involving Harold Duodu Norman, a video of Nana Akua Addo from 2021 resurfaced on social media on October 6, 2026, showing the fashion icon in a heated confrontation with members of her husband’s family. Nana Akua Addo’s husband breaks silence on alleged physical assault In the said clip, a man believed to be Nana Akua Addo’s brother-in-law was seen accusing her of infidelity and using derogatory language against her. “I love house girls. A prostitute like you, you be sleeping with land guards, you be sleeping with people. You’re mad. You sleep with people; everybody knows,” Harold's brother said. In a separate video, Nana Akua Addo was seen at a health facility with a swollen lip, blood-stained clothes, and visible injuries. According to reports, she was physically assaulted by her husband. Alleged ‘juju’ and abuse of their child: According to reports and videos gathered by GhanaWeb, Harold Duodu Norman was seen allegedly beating his daughter, who is believed to be a special-needs child. According to the report, the child had taken an amount of money from her father’s alleged secret room, said to be intended for “juju” for school, without his permission. The report further claimed that Harold Duodu Norman had refused to provide for the children, leading to his daughter taking the money, which was allegedly placed before the “voodoo.” Also in the same video, Harold Duodu Norman was seen heavily beating the child while asking her what she went to do in the said room. Also in the same video, Nana Akua Addo, who appeared displeased with the alleged assault, was heard complaining about the beatings. “Kill my child for me. The same way you have been beating me is the same way you are beating her. Have you beaten your son before? This place has turned into a war zone. You beat me and beat my children,” Nana Akua Addo noted. Harold Duodu Norman’s claim of being assaulted: Following the videos that have surfaced online, in which he was seen allegedly physically assaulting their child, as well as videos showing Nana Akua Addo with bloodstains and a swollen lip, Harold Duodu Norman has also shared his side of the story. In a statement issued by his lawyers on October 6, 2026, Harold’s legal team claimed that their client had also been subjected to domestic violence by Nana Akua Addo. According to the lawyers, the injury to Nana Akua Addo’s lip was the result of an attempt by the fashion icon to stab their client with a knife during a heated argument over alleged infidelity. In the statement signed by Emmanuel Bright Atokoh on behalf of Harold, the legal team also claimed that Norman, fearing for his life, picked up a dressing mirror with wooden cladding and used it to block the knife as she allegedly swung it towards his chest. They claimed that the knife struck the mirror, causing it to break into pieces, and that a shard from the broken mirror hit Nana Akua Addo’s lip, resulting in the injury shown in the viral social media photos and video. “It is categorically false that our client assaulted her, leading to the injury as she is speculating online,” the statement read. Nana Akua Addo’s response: Following the statement from Norman’s lawyers, Nana Akua Addo, during a live TikTok interaction, detailed her side of the story. According to her, the reason she was not seen at most events in the country was that her husband had placed a curfew on her. Nana Akua Addo reportedly assaulted by husband Nana Akua explained that if she returned late from an event, her husband would beat her, among other forms of alleged abuse. “The reason why I don’t attend red carpet events is that I had a curfew placed on me. If I returned late from an event, my husband would beat me.” She further explained that her reason for enduring the alleged marital abuse for all these years was because she wanted to gather enough money to leave the marriage, adding that her husband was fond of preventing her from securing ambassadorial deals. “I have left the home for about a month now after his family ambushed me. That is why I was able to go to Milan and Nigeria,” she said. Nana Akua shares how she lost her baby: According to Nana Akua, her husband refused to take care of her during her pregnancy. She explained that she suffered a stillbirth due to a lack of medical attention during her pregnancy. “I want you to break this story for me. I lost my child. When I was pregnant, he didn’t give me money for antenatal. So when I was seven months pregnant, I had eclampsia, and it was either they save the baby or me,” she said. Side chick involvement: According to reports gathered so far, it seems Nana Akua Addo's husband wasn't having an affair with a woman outside their marriage, as several videos of another side chick identified as Esi Boss have surfaced online. In the videos, Esi Boss was seen driving a newly acquired Benz allegedly purchased by Harold. Also following the saga involving Nana Akua and her husband, Esi Boss, in a Snapchat post, claimed that the fashion icon used to send thugs after her. She further cautioned Nana Akua Addo not to mistake her silence for weakness, adding that she is no longer having an affair with Harold. “I’m not disrespectful, but don’t mistake my silence for weakness. You pushed me to my limit when you went as far as calling land guards on my mother simply because you were looking for me and couldn’t find me," she said. Arrest of Harold Duodu Norman: Meanwhile, Harold Duodu Norman was picked up by the Ghana Police Service on August 26, 2026.
