Putting everything aside, Akufo-Addo is over 80 years of age, only few traditional leaders have attained that old age. So It’s totally disrespectful for any traditional leader to keep to their seat while the old man who is also of higher status of the country comes to greet him.
It’s quite prudent to draw the distinction between an old man who is also the President, who according to the Ghanaian cultural practices deserves at least some respect by his subjects including traditional leaders, as compared to Mahama who is much younger than most of the traditional leaders. Of course Mahama can’t do that based on his age, but Akufo-Addo can. This is common sense!
