What is the use in denying your prior involvement in illegal mining in Akim area now; as a paramount and tribal chief, your first and foremost duty is to protect your subjects, which the Okyehene hasn't done. Why wait and allow illegal miners to take control of your subjects' farming lands when you have the moral grounds to stop this illegal activities, if you're not criminally involved in any clandestine game played with Chinese criminals! As the saying goes, there is no smoke without fire - BNI wouldn't lie in their assessment of who is who in the galamsey game-play.

Nana Okyehene, unfortunately you can not sue the BNI. They have power to profile every individual living in Ghana and keep it secret including the sitting president. Their powers are independent of the any authority in Ghana, all things considered. They have a special role to protect this country through espionage. That was why Kwame Nkrumah gave them the name SPECIAL BRANCH. THEY ARE SPECIAL. They have power to investigate the highest authority of Ghana, the president, okay, If anybody's name surfaced in their findings, its because they have the person in their radar. See Mahama Ayarigah, should the Spy agency with alphabets - BNI- as it name told you Ayarigah was the bunker in the hollywood style movie of Ashia Huang,, "Sex 4 Jungle Gold". Nana go to bank with it. Bni can bring a whole house down if they mean to work. That is what they trained for. Its a spy agency and you can not sue them. It is what it is. They are your home style FBI OR THE DEFUNCT KGB.

The Okyehene has every right to defend his reputation, if, in fact, he has nothing to do with Galamsey. However, I would want to point out that he does not own the Land as he claims. He is supposed to be only the custodian of the Land for the People of Akyem. So, he should not boast around claiming that the whole Akyem belongs to him and he could do whatever he liked with it. I must acknowledge here that the Okyehene mentioned he would acquire legal license, if he wanted to mine the Land.
Unfortunately, that is the mistake many of our Chiefs, especially, the small Chiefs in our rural areas, have been making, thinking that the Land is all theirs to selfishly sell off to some unscrupulous entities who decimate the forests, scour and dig recklessly into the Land, leaving a massive mess of polluted debris and environment behind.
What baffles me more, though, is why the Okyehene, as well all the other enlightened high-ranked Chiefs never joined the anti-Galamsey crusade from the very beginning. The ill-effects of the illegal operations were very clear from the very beginning. The Streams and Rivers suffered immense pollution right from the scratch. What did the Amanhenes do to stop it?
