Accra Hearts of Oak new recruit Malik Akowuah has revealed to the public that he joined the Phobians because of Champions League football.
Malik who has featured in the CAF Confederation tournament with AshantiGold and Medeama is desperate to play in Africa’s elite club competition which is the Champions League.
Speaking in an interview with Asempa FM he said “I want to play in the CAF Champions League with Hearts of Oak, that was one of the main reasons why I joined the club.”
“I have played in the Confederation Cup with Medeama and I want to play in the Champions League with Hearts. They have been there before and I know they will make it again.”
Malik Akowuah joined Hearts of Oak from Medeama Sporting Club in a fee reported around GHc 700,000. Malik has a three-year contract with Accra Hearts of Oak and is yet to feature for the club in pre-season matches.
Akowuah is likely to make his debut on Sunday for Hearts when they take on Aduana Stars in the final of the GHALCA G6 competition on Sunday.
