Accra Hearts of Oak in-form defender Vincent Atinga has targeted the best defender award this season.
The center back has been very impressive for the Phobians in the ongoing Ghana Premier League, netting three goals.
Two of Atinga’s three goals have come from the spot kick.
He also scored brace when Hearts of Oak walloped Kotoko Royals 4-0 in their MTN FA Cup round of 32 fixture at the Accra sports stadium.
And according to the stalwart defender, winning the defender of the season goon remains his priority.
”Yes winning the defender of the season award is my personal target though I want to help my side[ Hearts of Oak] to win the trophy” He told SportsWorldGhana.com via phone call.
He however added that Frank Nuttull’s side wouldn’t be swollen headed in the second round of the Premier league despite recording fine form in the first round.
”It’s a great feeling that the Fans were in love with our performance in the first round but that doesn’t mean we are going to be swollen headed in the second round because we believe we are still in the race for the league title. added confident Vincent Atinga.
