What really needs to happen is that AFCON should become more pressurized. AFCON should be the WC qualifier. For instance 2021 AFCON would be the qualifier for 2022 WC. The top four teams go. The four losing quarter finali ... read full comment
What really needs to happen is that AFCON should become more pressurized. AFCON should be the WC qualifier. For instance 2021 AFCON would be the qualifier for 2022 WC. The top four teams go. The four losing quarter finalist have to play in a group home and away and the group winner gets the fifth spot.
After 2022, Africa should get 8 spots. Quarterfinalist at the prior AFCON automatically qualify. The key for African soccer is to intensify AFCON.
