The important thing is that we should all throw our support behind our own coach, we should encourage our players to help him to succeed because Ghana is a leader in Africa(if u do not know), It is sad to see all the African teams with foreign coaches during the world cup.
We want to be respected but first we have to work for it. Football can be a good political tool to use to fight for dignity and respect.

I am realistic. No matter who is the coach, the Black Stars will lose and draw some games that they should win. However, at the end of the day, they will still be stronger than most African teams. The Ghanaian fan base is overly negative. Yes, we are all disappointed with the lack of AFCON cups and the 2014 WC fiasco and the 2018 WC qualifying so far but to me if Grant could not win AFCON why spend unnecessary funds on a foreign coach. Keep a local coach and develop him. If a foreign technical advisor is needed at some point bring him in but I see no justification for the foreign coach at this time.

Secondly, no good coach will want to work with the GFA anyway. The whole nonsense of Harry Redknapp, Herve Renard, and Michu being on the list was simply a lie. They wouldn't want to come to this cesspool of madness. Neither will Marcel Desailly, or Sellas Tetteh.
Third, Ghana's World Cup chances are practically done, so we really do not have anything to loose.
Anyway, he's our coach now so let's support him, and lets hope that the GFA has their administration in order and they try not to manipulate him. Kwesi needs thicker skin and I hope he can push back against the GFA if they give him issues, and furthermore the fanbase needs to be supportive and hurl insults at the man when he is struggling. You have a local coach that you asked for, now support him.

Was he not the only coach who was able to draw with the eventual winners, Germany? Look at how Germany mauled and annihilated hosts Brazil, but they had to fight from behind to draw with the Stars. This was a single feat which catapults Akwasi above all coaches at Brazil except the German coach.
The NDC's anti Akan stance led to the termination of Akwasi Appiah as the national coach. Revisit his wonderful performance against Egypt in Kumasi and the tactical play in Cairo which saw the determined Egyptians winning by 2-1 margin. Welcome, humble Akwasi and may the Lord help you to send us to Russia

All the other potential and preferred coaches are engaged by rival countries (in Africa) in the race for Russia 2018 and this would have caused a very bad name for Ghana,had Ghana gone for any of these coaches. As it is Appiah is the only available coach on the list who suits the state of affairs with the Black Stars now: GFA and Ghanaians have lost all hope of qualifying for Russia 2018 and nobody would hold Appiah responsible if indeed Ghana fails to qualify for Russia! I suspect GFA is in the line of building up a new squad which will now dance to its tune! Less bonus and if they don't like they can go. There is no major tournament now (apart from Russia), which would interest the swollen-headed Black Stars players and as such GFA and the sports ministry can use the chance to restructure the bonus and call-up systems. Also the aging players can now be gradually phased out. The most important of all, the sports ministry can now take control because they are now going to call the shots due to their "bankroller" roll they are now going to take up! The players are no more going to hold the state at ransome! This also gives GFA the chance to send Appiah for better and longer attachment training courses and seminars to up his knowledge and ability. Its maybe good that things have gone this way, this would humble our players!!!
