I don't drink bitters and never will!! Even now, especially because of this report, I will abstain even more from them!! Just as I religiously abstain from patronizing hawkers in traffic, urinating or spitting outside, buying food outside (I pack my breakfast and lunch from home to work)!!

This is the reason I keep on saying common-sense and thinking has elude Ghanaians in both NDC and NPP politicians and ministers.Since it has come to your domain that unpatriotic citizens and bitters companies are destroying our forest so the sector minister should draft a bill to parliament for consideration that timber contractors, chain saw operators, tree back hunters and bitters companies should allow to pay 10% of their earnings to forestry department to breed plant spices for afforestation.but talking unwisely will not solve to problem.

All the bodies licenced to produce these drinks must show the government their commitment to replacing what they take from the forest. the trees have been ther tens of years before the demand reached this height. Resources are nothing, if not used, so of cause there is nothing wrong with harvesting them, but like all farmers they need to grow what they use. The government policies are there to protect people and the environment and all these manufacturers must plant their own trees.

This is similar to those harvesting shark fins, elephant tusks and rhyno tusk.please use alternative method rather than destroying d forest .Ghanaians have lost d nitch with mother nature, let's they will do otherwise. We seem to have bought into d greed culture where everyone is trying to be rich overnight.there should be a law, that bans cutting down a tree at certain time of d year ,when they are fruiting or blumming. l know there is a law against trapping or killing animals during d mateing season. For every tree that is cut down twenty five must be planted. it is not only trees that are cut down ,but palm trees too, for their sap. Please let's not destroy d world we live ,rather nurse it and it will nourish us back in return. We are destroying d rivers, forest, animals and everything in sight.it is time we reverse d trend or leave our children with nothing but deserts.please check d satellite photos of Africa map, u will see how serious d sahara desert is encroaching south wards and deserts in southern Africa encroaching northward . The only portion of Africa with sizeable greenery is d mid section of d continent. Hope d AU and UN intercede on behalf of mother Africa.
