  Europe and America did not need GM technology to attain food self-sufficiency. So why do we even think we need to adopt GM technology?
  
  Let those who invented GM technology use it in their own countries.

  The debate as to whether genetic manufactured crops are the answer to our food problem is still raging.The precautionary principle which is enshrined in international law determines that, if science is not certain about the long term out came of an experiment which may affect human life or the environment,then the benefit of doubt must inure to human life or the environment.That means shirking the act until reasonably certain that it will not be harmful to human life and the environment.I hope in our effort to feed the population we are not rushed into experiments which other countries are treating with caution all because of our desire to feed the population but at what price.Yes we need to feed our people but we must also be cautions that we don't rush into things that will be inimical to our interest in the long ran.
