Only those who earn good salary plus some allowances and bonuses, and corrupt gov't officials would not condemn what that out-of-date General Nunoo said.

Upon all these and the sacrifices of the single spine implementation policy to soften things for workers hasn’t stop the public sector from striking. In UK striking workers are not paid by their employers, they receive their income from the tuc strike fund.It is high time Ghana adopt the no work no pay policy.
There is also the need to reduce the public service workforce because most of what they do is duplicated.I will agree with Kofi Thompson that legislation must be put in place to make it illegal for public service staff to go on strike otherwise it must be no work no pay.

UNEMPLOYED GHANAIANS...ARISE...YOU HAVE NOTHING TO LOSE BUT YOUR CHAINS OF HUMILIATION AND POVERTY...FIGHT FOR YOUR RIGHTS NOW....
I strongly believe the Unemployed persons in Ghana must organise themselves and stand up to the political Master class for their rights. Many a time you go home and a young unemployed friend has died again. They die so easily of poverty. Unemployed Ghanaians die so easily from hunger, sickness, depression and degradation. Unemployed Ghanaians are the most humiliated species on earth. They do not have unemployed benefit; they cannot get petty jobs to do; they are well educated but cannot get any job...those in towns with no land cannot farm or go fishing or hunting and so trapped in their poverty. No one cares for the sad unemployed masses, who have to beg for pennies to buy carbohydrates to eat with water. They wait for Election time to sell their votes for rice and stew and if lucky get an NDC Lap top to sell later to buy food and drinks; then they return disconsolately to their life of despondency. They bury their sorrow in Akpeteshie drink. Everything is gone for the unemployed people in Tema who used to go to the harbour and factories to carry goods and earn some living: All the Black Star Line ships are gone and there are no jobs anymore from the factories...Unemployed people in Obuasi are suffering since NDC sold the Gold mine to the South Africans together with their manager, Sam Jonah. Unemployed in Cape Coast have been given sheds and television to watch at London Bridge as their Masters feed fat on their country's resources in their palatial hotel mansions. Poor Unemployed Ghanaian women: forced to sell their bodies to buy food for their children to go to school...Why are we allowing poor sad unemployed to swell the local cemetaries in premature death? Why is morbidity and mortality rates so high among the unemployed? Who will help the unemployed, as 600,00 workers are take all the Billions and do nothing like them. Why are unemployed NOT given any support in Ghana? can't they be paid GH50 Cedis a Month? Are they not owners of the OIL discovered by Kufuor? Or only NDC supporting workers must enjoy the gravy train? Why can't the unemployed people of Ghana share in the National cake? Does the Timber, Gold Mines, Diamond mines, Oil, Cocoa proceeds and every resource not belong to them as well? They must be beneficiaries of all state resources...Unemployed people must now organise themselves and march forward to these political leaders. they have nothing to lose except their shame and degradation. Rise up and chase your political leaders for jobs or benefits. Do not allow only them to siphon your country's resources to buy cars and planes and suvus for their personal use. Arise and Stand up for your rights...God Bless The unemployed People of Ghana.

Let us first make a law to make it illegal to use tax payers money to pay any workers while on strike.

Foolish talk. This is just an extension of what warless General Nunoo Mensah said. Strikers, by themselves, are not irrational as this writer and Nunoo Mensah believe. You can not tell a hungry man better how hungry he is. This was what Jerry Rawlings attempted in 1981. "Look at your dare faces", he said. Se what the faces look like today. I guess the first step is to ban the irresponsibility of semi-literate vagabonds in power. Coups have always been illegal in Ghana when Jerry Rawlings carried out three - yes, three.

As usual, Thompson defends the indefensible in the NDC. Keep it up, buddy. I know a teacher in a village who has not been paid in over a year, and you to ban her from engaging in industrial action? What an asshole.

Arrant nonsense, how many of your useless 275 MPS' salaries are in arrears? Kofi Thompson? If Ghana is spending 70% of her total revenue on Gov't. workers then there is something wrong with your Gov't. How does it make sense to you that an administration that cannot guarantee prompt payment of workers wages should add 45 MPs to its already bloated pay roll? This is what you should have spent your time addressing and not the striking worker who has not been paid for months, perhaps a year or so. Truly, Ghana's progress has been rolled back.
