Azar, the problem in Ghana as far as this matter is concerned is partly due to a very weak Legislature. Members do not even have resources and staff to do research for them. As a result they are unable to carry out their duties as parliamentarians so the Executive usurps their powers.
I wonder if death penalty is part of the entrenched sections of the Constitution that should be subjected to a referendum prior to amendment.
I recently questioned the the proposal by IEA's Winner Takes All Committee of coalition government by proportional representation to be enshrined in the Constitution a means of getting rid of the Winner Takes All form of government. I found that to very absurd and cannot fathom why IEA is leading such a dangerous exercise. It's a threat to democracy and could cause instability in Ghana. Coalition government should not the forced on Ghanaians through the Constitution, not even by primary legislation.

The MPs are more interested in free fuel, other perks and ESBs. If they are truly interested in the welfare of the country, these frivolous perks must be stopped. There will be money, then, for what you are writing.
