The centralised system of government should be brought to the front page. This issue is extremely important and l will urge Ghanaians to show an abysmal interest in discussing the issue in the public domain. The appointment of regional Ministers in it totality is irrelevant. To reflect on the appointments, the ministers have no special mandate to carry out proper functions in each respective regions. I presume, the responsibilities they have, is to perform administrative functions, in which, he or she is being instructed to act on behalf of the government. They do not have their own space to decide on issues that is relevant to the regions. In most cases, the appointments do not accompany with, any substantial development plan or a long term plan. Ghana regions are different in character size and conditions including resources available in each location. I suggest the regions should be in the position to elect their representatives. At best, the people can decide on their future and destiny. The president elect is an old man will old ideas. In my views, Ghana should move away from the central system of govt to horizontal system, where, decisions can be made at the local level. Vertical decisions aren't useful in contemporary societies.
