Great piece, although those who genuinely tried are all lumped in together, nevertheless a hard truth to swallow for many. I hope those who the cap fits will read this article and take it heart. If they do you will have few replies and few rejoinders. Thhey are in any case licking their wounds or goodies from thhe 2016 election. I am curious to see what yheir reaction will be now that the naked truth is dragged out in the open. The scounderels will want to villify you but yhey dare not because they now that there is much more where this came from. This is even the sanitized version. If they attack you dont spare them

Political parties flourish if they have ideas and ideals to offer the citizens; they wither or die when they are full of hot air. Yes the NPP and NDC, as tribal based parties, currently have the corner market on foolishness and unrealistic promises that are mainstay of Ghana politics.
What it will take is not repeating the same crap the NDC and NPP offer the nation and have been over the last 30+ years but to show the people of the country how but backed by realistic budget numbers. Dr. Bawumia, the great NPP economists, pulled a wool over the eyes of most ignorant Ghanaian who equate classroom credentials with wisdom. Dr. Bawumia in his wisdom could not at any time provide a Ghana revenue forecast for the year 2017 nether could he predict Ghana's overall expenditures for 2017 even though he railed against every monetary policy, government expenditures and or income generation activities of the then NDC government. If he, Dr. Bawumia, knew everything he claimed to know why could he not provide a realistic forecast on anything? A party that can provide Ghanaians with the true picture of our expenditures, revenues, economic outlook and output and how we, as a nation, are going to maintain government programs, grow the economy, keep up with infrastructure developments and hold down expenditures should take the NPP and NDC to the cleaners if as Ghanaians we are anywhere intelligent as we claim or purport to be. And if the suggestion in the "Unite of perish" article is logical then why not become a unitary party state like Nkrumah had us?

You can add to what he wrote but not subtract, as he's indeed correct. So you have added the need for a coherent programme based on proper projections. Fine! I think that's too complex for the generality of voters except the more educated ones with some level of sophistication. This is not to say that a radical programme promising to to this and that essentially different from the the NPP's and NDC's is not needed. In fact, it is needed sorely and lack of it is a major contributory factor to teh abysmal performance so far. The NPP under Nana has put forward programmes far radical and bolder than what the CPP and PNC combined had done! I haven't read or read anything from them which depict them as truly Nkrumahist.
I also think we can the fact that the leaders of those petty so-called Nkrumahist parties
have become delusional nincompoops far removed from reality. It is amusing to see them self-deluding themselves every 4 years that they'd win the elections.
