Why won't Ghanaians be Depressed. High unemployment and those working are being paid peanuts. Why won't we be depressed.

I echo that. Leaders are reaping the masses off. Don't be surprised if agitations erupt leading to a spontaneous revolution. The elite must watch out. Yooooòòo

The Republic of Ghana has 236 thousand square kilometres of land, give or take a few kilometres here and there. It has 25 million people, give or take a few million here and there. I am not a psychologist or psychiatrist, but I walk the streets of Ghana all the time and I am fortunate enough to have the means of experiencing other places on the earth from time to time. My conclusions are amateurish and unprofessional. This psychologists concludes that 40% of our people are depressed. I conclude that 100% of our people have mental problems - anything ranging from clinical depression to inferiority complex to various forms of psychosis and neurosis. The degree of sociopathic and psychopathic behavior that one sees all over the country is numbing. You can see it in our parliamentarians, who are mind you, supposed to be leaders in the community, to Ministers of State or Ministers of the Pulpit, to teachers and principals to university professors to lawyers. I do not have any empirical evidence to support my conclusions, just street level observations as I go from city to city to towns and villages. Deviant behaviour has become the norm, so much so that recently, a video clip circulated on social media in which a child was asked what he would like to be when he grew up and he responded "armed robber"! Such deviance!

Ghanaians are cheaters, when they buy on credit they don't pay until it becomes a fight, when you employ them you become their enemy or target, when you do good to people here they take you for granted. (Artisans), Mechanics, Masons, Welders, Painters, electricians in general are all liers, not reliable and they don't have good finishing. Politicians are liers and thieves. Restaurants and food vendors are not hygiene. Bad roads, poor sanitation, low quality fuel, poor healthcare system, electricity, church noise, land guards, poor telephone networks, mad people walking everywhere freely, 419ers, unqualified policemen. Almost everything is not okay

I think that number is correct. Ghanaians worry too much.Depression is a human problem. Its just that the Western world have a lot more support for those mental/psychological issues, they recognize that mental health is very important. You can go to any bookshop and find self-help books that can help you deal with it.In Ghana people go and see a pastor. The Pastor will pray for you and you may feel fine for a while but then it comes back with a vengeance as you have not dealt with the underling cause.

How did she know? She might be depressed herself or her family have got depression. Living a land where there is no law and no good water to drink due to galamsey will not surprise me of when people go depressed and crazy. A land where one person monthly salary can buy a whole community in Ghana can be depressing, a land our mp's are confused fighting each other can be depressing, a land where Chinese come and do galamsey, a land where Mahama had stolen our monies can be very depressing. A land whereby asofo have turned to blood suckered can be more depressing. A land where Akua Donkor wanted run as a presidential candidate can be depressing. Too many things in Ghana these days are depressive.
