Communications Director of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Richard Ahiagbah, has insisted that the Member of Parliament for Kwadaso did no wrong in handing an envelope to the two Electoral Commission officials.

It could be remembered that during the Ejisu By-Election, the Electoral Commission announced that it had withdrawn two of its temporary staff.

The reason behind the withdrawal was that they were seen taking an envelope which was perceived as a bribe from the Member of Parliament for Kwadaso in the Ashanti Region.

The Electoral Commission has since reported the issue to the police and criminal investigation into the matter has started.

But reacting to this, Richard Ahiagbah who handles communication for the New Patriotic Party indicated that Member of Parliament was being generous to the officials of the Commission and had no ill intentions.

His post read “Dr. Kingsley Nyarko’s generosity today exemplifies the kindness and compassion inherent in being a good fellow citizen. While his approach may differ from what many of us would have chosen, it seems he acted from a place of genuine conviction. I know Dr. Kingsley Nyarko; he is a good Ghanaian and a disciplined member of the New Patriotic Party; such is not our way. He meant no harm, merely to express his usual generosity towards the two.”
