Sir William Garrow, to whom much is owed on the nature of the common law as we know it today, studied law as an apprentice. Garrow literally terrorized the shit out of the elite lawyers and judges of his time.
As I appointed out earlier, today as we speak, some non-grads get handed traineeship contracts. Akufo-Addo actually completed the equivalent of what is today called the GDL at the Inns of Court (today City University School of Law) but chose to pursue the professional stage through a traineeship in France. To be sure, his father's links may have helped to secure him that move to France. How many so-called big men in Ghana aren't who they are because of their parents? Cut the man some slack.
