‘He was not an occult member’ - Family defends late Prophet Elisha Osei
The family of the late Prophet Elisha Osei Kofi has dismissed claims circulating on social media that the pastor was involved in occult practices before his death.
In a press conference shared on Facebook and sighted by GhanaWeb on September 23, 2026, the family noted that the late founder of Grace Family Church International was not a member of any secret society.
According to them, the late Prophet Elisha was a devout Christian who loved the word of God from childhood; hence, any allegations levelled against him are false.
“There is a rumour on social media, and as a family, we are not happy. That is why we have gathered here. Our grandson did not join any occult group or fraternity. He came to this earth to worship his Maker in truth.

“When he was a child, everything about him showed that he wanted to be a pastor. And indeed, he became one before his death,” the family said.
They further noted that Prophet Elisha came from a royal lineage and could have been made a chief if he had not chosen the path of ministry.
“He is a royal, and if not for the fact that he was a pastor, we could have made him a chief,” the family added.
