Congo's election commission began releasing partial results on Sunday from last week's presidential run-off to try to stem the flow of rumours and unofficial results circulating in the tense capital.
Four former African heads of state separately met with the Democratic Republic of Congo's two presidential candidates, and said both appeared ready to accept the outcome of the election without fighting.
